What we're all about

"The Kraken" is a FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team at George Washington High School in Denver, Colorado. Our team of approximately 30 kids designs and builds a robot to compete in various competitions throughout the United States. In addition, our team has to raise about $20,000 in funds each year by writing grants, finding corporate sponsors, and creating fundraising events. We provide educational opportunities for grades K-12 by sponsoring elementary and middle school robotics teams (FIRST LEGO League Jr. and FIRST LEGO League), as well as spreading the word about STEM through collaborations with the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, Barnes and Nobles, and the International Society of Technology in Education.
